The High Street Dental Clinic was established in 2005.  We are an NHS practice and together with our sister practice The Market Place Dental Practice, we provide NHS treatment to over 12,000 patients in Devizes and the surrounding area.  We provide the full range of NHS treatment except orthodontics and sedation.

Our Philosophy

It is our philosophy to promote dental health through preventative dentistry. Tooth decay, gum disease and oral disease can be identified early by having regular examinations and then treated before they cause you problems. Preventative dentistry can work for you whatever your age and is equally important to young and old alike.

The High Street Dental Clinic employs a Dental Therapist who is primarily involved with children's dentistry.

For the last 10 years, this clinic has been part of a trial to develop a preventative approach to treating dental disease. Unfortunately, this trial has been terminated. Whilst working very well for our practice, it is not deemed suitable to roll out nationally. Therefore from the 1st April 2022, the clinic is having to revert to a target driven contract based on treating active disease.

Children's Dentistry

Children's dental health is a priority, especially as the decay rate appears to be rising in children and teenagers.  To make appointments easier for children to attend,  the clinic allocates children only times during half term and school holidays.  This should allow for routine treatment to be carried out without the need to take children out of school or at the end of a busy day.
Your Registration with us

We encourage all patients to have routine, regular appointments in line with advice from their dentist. We have previously contacted patients who's registration with the practice is about to lapse. We will no longer be doing this and it will be the patient's responsibility to ensure they have an examination regularly to maintain their registration with us. (Your registration will lapse if you have not had an examination with us in the last two years).

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend your appointment, we ask that you contact the clinic at least 24 hours beforehand to let us know. If you are unwell on the day of your appointment, please ring the clinic before 8.30am and leave a message.

Missed Appointments

Current NHS policy does not allow us to charge patients who fail to attend appointments without giving the appropriate notice. However, if you fail to attend two appointments within a course of treatment, we may not be able to offer further appointments to you.
